Joan Hawkins’ second novel, Bailey, launched in New York in September 2012, is an alternative coming of age tale that charts the daunting progress of a young woman through the traumas that lead her into life in an asylum.  Her next book, to be published in August 2013, is Trespass, a story of family greed and loneliness, taking place over the course of a blazing New England summer.  Joan’s debut novel – the second edition of which will be out later this year – was Underwater, published in 1974 by G.P. Putnam, a cutting edge novel that explored sexual boundaries and satirized the old guard of a changing world.  For details on each of these books click on the links above, or see Joan’s Author’s Page on Amazon
